He helps them feel comfortable and earn their First Class rank in their first year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"reports-to\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsatroop27.us\/general-info\/youth-leadership\/troop-guide#reports-to\">Reports to:<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The assistant Scoutmaster for the new Scout patrol in the troop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"duties\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsatroop27.us\/general-info\/youth-leadership\/troop-guide#duties\">Duties:<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Introduces new Scouts to troop operations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Guides new Scouts through early Scouting activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shields new Scouts from harassment by older Scouts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Helps new Scouts earn First Class rank in their first year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teaches basic Scout skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coaches the patrol leader of the new Scout patrol on his duties.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Works with the patrol leader at patrol leaders&#8217; council meetings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attends patrol leaders&#8217; council meetings with the patrol leader of the new Scout patrol.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assists the assistant Scoutmaster with training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Counsels individual Scouts on Scouting challenges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sets a good example.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enthusiastically wears the Scout uniform correctly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lives by the Scout Oath and Law.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shows Scout spirit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsatroop27.us\/general-info\/youth-leadership\/scribe\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsatroop27.us\/general-info\/youth-leadership\/scribe\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsatroop27.us\/general-info\/youth-leadership\/chaplain-aide\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description: The troop guide works with new Scouts.
